During the past week, our university enjoyed the once-a-year University Week. This is one of the most awaited event every year because during this week, the students are able to enjoy buying stuff (like food, accessories, clothes) from the bazaar, getting scared by the Harlequin Theater Guild's Haunted Hall, experience your choice of subject for the LEAP classes, and have an awesome night during the culminating concert.

This year, I was really determined to enjoy this University Week to the fullest, first because last year I got sick so I wasn't able to enjoy it, and lastly, because this will be my last University Week as an undergraduate TT_____TT

Monday: The Haunted Hall Experience
Being a scaredy-cat, I don't really know why I like going through the Haunted Hall. If this were any other Haunted Hall, I'd immediately say no, but maybe it's because of the University Week spirit and the curiosity of whether I'd really get scared or not that makes me want to try it out :))) Anyway, we still had classes during the morning. That's alright, though, because the Haunted Hall only operates from 1800 onward. My classes ended at 1300 so I had free time until 1610 when my friends would be out. Sooo, I had the choice of doing my thesis, or not. I decided to hang out at the bazaar first (and bother my friend, Joan, who was selling personalized accessories there) to see what interesting stuffs to buy. While there, I saw two of my other friends, Trizia and Mitch, and we wandered around the bazaar. By 1430, both Mitch and Trizia had classes so I was left alone again ._. And that's how I ended up in the Netcentric laboratory, continuing on "doing my thesis" until it's finally time. I packed my things and went down to the lobby to meet up with my Gie, Trizia, and MG. The others were still not available so we ended up hanging out on SJ (stupid rain, we weren't able to hang out at the Museum >o<) and Trizia kept on spouting super scary scenarios O_O. By 1720, we went to the Haunted Hall to queue up (or else, the line would be extremely long). By 1740, Anne arrived, but Ian, Paul, Mark, Tim, and Leslie were still missing. Around 1800, the HTG staff were already letting participants in. When we were finally complete, we decided on how we will divide the group (because only 6 participants are allowed to go inside at a time). Mark, Gillian, Trizia, me, MG, and Paul were in the first group while Tim, Leslie, Ian, and Anne were in the second group. Because the second group was 2 person short, the single riders were asked to fill them in. So then, it was time to go in and we all held hands while anticipating what scary things we will encounter. Hmmm.... It wasn't that scary, as compared to the one during first year. The room was so dark, I can't see the ghosts's faces. I only screamed because I got surprised when they screamed XD I kept on tripping on the cardboard and newspapers that were on the floor >o< Actually, now that I think about it, it was kinda funny. When the ghosts were shouting at us to leave them alone, MG kept on answering them with "Sorry na" or "Wait lang po" :)) And when one of the ghosts bumped on Gie, she shouted "Akala ko ba no touching" XDDD I can't remember what part, I think it was the last one, MG was pulling on my shirt so I was getting choked ._. And then, we finally opened the last door, and we were greeted by a woman wielding a camera. Aaand, the end. We waited for the picture to be printed (it's with Gie now) and for the second group to be finished before we all went home and the day ended.

Tuesday: Be a Green Archer for a Day
The Tuesday of the University Week is always the LEAP (Lasallian Enrichment Alternative Program) Day! There are no classes because you have to attend any class that you want (as long as you are able to enroll in it). During the first year, I had Philosophy class. Second year, I had origami class. And in my third year, I got Archery class woohooooo!!!! Originally, I was supposed to take Target Shooting with my friends, but I did not make it so I ended up with Archery. But it's fine, because I really want to learn archery! My class starts at 1300 and ends at 1600. I was late by 30 minutes, so when I arrived, they were already seated and someone was explaining the parts of the bow and arrow. I can't remember all the parts hahahaha I just remember that there are three feathers on the arrow, two same colored and one different colored. When loading the arrow, the different colored one must always face you, or else the arrow would fly somewhere that you did not intend to. After the discussion, finally, it was time for us to try shooting! We were divided into three groups for practice. The first group consisted of the people that were 5'8" (I think) or taller. The second group consisted of all males, and the third group consisted of all females. I was in the third group and second to the last at the line. The females were really sloooowww I ended up chatting with the person in front of me. Turns out her name was also Nathalie (but with an 'h') hahahhaa it's kinda awkward calling out on somebody with the same name as yours OTL Hmmmmmmm.... the other groups were already on their 2nd and 3rd tries but I was still not able to try shooting. Why are the females so slooooooowwww damnit I wanna shoooooot already >o< When it was finally my turn, I was really excited! Yaaay finally! So, the person gave me the composite arrow and was coaching me. Stand straight, body must face perpendicular to the target, feet must be parallel, load the arrow with the different colored feather facing me, make sure that the arrow is loaded properly, hold the bow and stretch the left arm, hold the string of the bow with the index finger at the top of the arrow, and the middle and ring finger at the bottom (don't use the thumb and the pinky finger), pull the string until the index finger touches my mouth, aim, once ready, don't hesitate and let go of the string. FWOOOM And I shot my first arrow! The arrow was in the middle, but a little bit higher. So the coach told me to aim lower for my second try. So I again followed his instructions and shot the arrow. It was still off but it was closer to the target, so I was really happy. So we continued on shooting. The first group were already finished so some were using the recurve bow! I wanna try I wanna try. Apparently, Nathalie also wants to try! So, we left our group, because it will be a while before we're able to shoot again We headed to the coach (I think he's the teacher of the team) and asked if we can try shooting with that. Holding the bow, it was kinda light. But when you pull the string, you can feel that there's more tension than with the composite bow. The coach explained that when they say that that bow is "heavy", it does not mean the weight but the force needed to pull the string. Oooohhh. Afterwards, we had a sort of archery competition. I somehow made it to the semi-finals (only girl to do so hahaha) but didn't make it to the finals because of a moment of hesitation. It's really true that a moment of hesitation can affect your accuracy. And it really hurt my fingers T_T Nevertheless, it was a really fun experience. I wish I joined the Archery club before, but meh. No time for regrets. At least I was able to try it at least once :D
